Putting the Scotch into Mackie's Crisps with new Whisky flavour!
Last updated: 2.39pm, Tuesday 26th August 2014
We are delighted to announce the addition of two new product lines to our range this week, which will see the launch of the first ever whisky flavoured crisps!
We have combined whisky flavouring with another Scottish favourite to create it’s new Whisky & Haggis flavour potato crisps. At the same time, we are also launching new Venison & Cranberry flavOur Crisps.
Both new lines will form part of our Ridge Cut range, which was launched in November 2013 comprising four flavour variants: Caramelised Red Onion, Prawn Cocktail, Roast Ham and Sea Salt & Mixed Peppercorns. The range was attributed with the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award for Retail Product: Confectionery and Snacking this year.
The two new Ridge Cut lines will be available in Scottish Co-op stores from Wednesday 27th August 2014 and will subsequently be available in Tesco (Scotland) from September and Scottish Asda stores in October.
Commenting on our innovative new lines, Mackie's at Taypack Managing Director, George Taylor, said:
“We have been delighted with the uptake of our Ridge Cut range thus far, with sales already performing in line with our core range.
“We felt it was time to add a Scottish twist to the range as our Scottish flavours have always been very popular. We were particularly keen to try a whisky seasoning as Scotch is so renowned around the world; we tried various combinations and the Whisky and Haggis pairing came out on top. Venison & Cranberry was also an instant hit when it came to internal and consumer tastings.
“We are very excited to see the market’s reaction to the new flavour lines.”
